If any of you caught the Press Conference today with Jim Prentice and James Moore it was some of the best television I've ever seen. Oh of course not because of what they said, if I want to hear lies I go strait to the Prime Minister, no it was quality TV because of the look on James Moore's face. It was priceless, he looked like he he was trying really hard not to cry.
There are very few things in life that please me more than Conservatives in pain. (mental, not physical) For all the pain and anguish they bring others it's nice to see some of it land back on them.
Still if I were a betting man I'd wager a substantial sum on Chicken Steve proroguing Parliament. Can't just accept the will of the House, that'd be democratic.

The most important job of a Canadian Prime Minister is national unity.
Stephane Dion has failed on this point already.
By entering into a formal accord with the Bloc, he has:
- given them legitimacy in the eyes of soft nationalist and even federalist voters.
- made it easier for the Bloc to campaign in the next election as being "not really" about separation.
- made the separatists seem a whole lot less scary for voters.
The Liberal Party are creating winning conditions for separatists.
Shameful.

Gee, I wonder who you voted for.

Legitimacy? They control the vast majority of seats in Quebec and have since they were created, how much more legitimate can you get?
- Made it easier for the Bloc to campaign in the next election as being "not really" about separation.
Yes, just like the Conservatives campaigned in the last election as being "not really" about running the country in to the ground.
- made the separatists seem a whole lot less scary for voters.
Wait a minute, wasn't it your party that enacted legislation that recognizes Quebec as a "nation" in Canada?
The only thing that's shameful is people like you.
People seem to forget that Bloc leader Lucien Bouchard was the Leader of the Official Opposition for a nice stretch. Guess what, the nation didn't implode.
Let's see, JC is fine when it's Harper making deals with Gilles (2004, signed letter to G-G Adrienne Clarkson), in a grab for the brass ring. When its Dion, it's a national shame. But let's look at this -- the real balance of power could rest in Stephen's hands, your Harper, if he wishes it, ousting Duceppe from the catbird seat.
I think Dion's accomplishments regarding national unity can stand on their own; Harper has created this situation. He essentially made the separatists see that they're better throwing their lot with the Liberals and NdP, giving them a year opportunity to do better than Harper. Guess they don't have very high expectations, either.
